Sumner County Gov Watch is a project of Sumner United for Responsible Government (SURG).  Our purpose is create a hub where the activities of all of Sumner County’s local governments can be reported, providing information to the public and keeping our local representatives accountable.  If you would like to join a team to monitor and report on one of the governmental bodies, just post a response to this page with your contact information or contact Cam McConnell by email.

SURG is the official organization created by the citizen organizers of the first Sumner County Tea Party on April 15th, 2009 where more than 2,000 people gathered to celebrate our individual liberties. And that was just the beginning.

Sumner United is a grassroots organization of patriotic citizens committed to returning our government to its Constitutional bounds and making our elected representatives accountable to the will of the people, who are the sole source of our government’s authority and existence.

We are deeply concerned with good governance on all levels, from local to national.
